bigguy-
I just changed my signature...I guess what I had :"SCSS" translates to both Standard Cab StepSide AND SuperCab SS...
Now that we know I have a 5.3 I am still perplexed on the math. Oh well...

ok now i'm lost, if coontoot has a 5.3 and it's taking 3/16 to get a pound, and a 6.o should show less increase. do i need to go a 1/4 per pound on a 6.0 ? i'd prefer to get it right the first time at 50-80 bucks a pop. mines a single belt, 2300 AXO, non intercooled, stock internal motor. i'm right at 6 psi at 5500 rpms, i want to get to 8. what increments are they available in ? i've seen several posts where guys are running 3.5" and varying between 8.5 and 10. what should i get ?

i would'nt be so worried if i had your intercooler on my truck. trying to keep it tame enough to tow and drive everyday. guess i'll call and see what the next size smaller than a 3.75 is and go with that. e

I started with a 4.375 'stock' size pulley and got about 5 PSI. I wanted more so I called Whipple and read some posts. I thought that the 4.0 would take me to 8 PSI. I only got 7. The difference was very easy to feel and I liked what I felt. Then I decided I still needed MORE so when I thought about the next pulley, I first was gonna go with the 3.75. that should have given me 9 PSI, right? Then I said WTF, why not get the 3.5 and go to 11 PSI?!? I only get 10 with the 3.5, but I am glad I made the leap of 1/2". Worse comes to worse, there is a hot market for Whipple pulleys at the 3.5 size if ya wann go back to a 3.75. Get the 3.5...join me on the side of insanity I like to visit...

umm.. tempting, but my truck still has to pull my 7k trailer without blowing up. besides, i just had two crowns go bad, retreat did'nt work, looking at 8k worth of implants. alky or intercooler isn't in the short term picture. just got a mag hytech trans pan to go with my rear end cover, thing holds a crap load more fluid. funny that it took 3/8 to get your first 2lbs, then an 1/8 per from then on. mine came with a 4" and i get 6lbs up at 5400-5500. gonna see if they have one just slightly smaller than a 3 3/4" if not i'm going with that for now. if they tooth fairy leaves a few $k under my pillow maybe i'll join the insanity. just playing about fresno, sure it's nice, too hot for me. pulled in to a parking lot next too an '03 that had to have a 12" lift and sitting on 40" plus tires, felt like i was in a toyota. so that's what they mean by ***** envy. e
