Default Who has dealt with / used a Team Tripp tranny?

My 60E just bit the dust in the 2-4 department and I can't find anyone locally who I would feel good about doing a rebuild. I wonder how many folks have used their 60E behind a blower? I don't have the time or tools for an 80E install, so I am trying to decide where to spend my money on a 60E or 65E. ANY info is appreciated, even from other suppliers.

on FLP. There are some other sponsers that sell beefed up trannies too. FLP is the only one I know of that caters to the truck market as well.

What is the physical difference between:
The $1195.00 Team Tripp 4L60E
Tripp

and the $2150.00 FLP Level 4 4L60E?
FLP

Is there $1000 worth of parts and/or workmanship there?

I've found while a lot of times a product seems the same, that more times and any, you get what you pay for.

This axiom is sometimes counteracted with "A Fool and his money..." although your statement is usually true nonetheless. That's why I am looking for info about Tripp from others. I have had one member PM me with nothing but good things to say, but his tranny is a young 4 months old.

I agree ... I thought about that after I hit the submit button, but in this case, I think Parish can attest to FLP's quality and willingness to help out the truck guys.

I don't know anything abou tthe Tripp tranny's, but I think they are known well with the B-body guys.

Talk to Chuck at Flp and get their input and list of parts. Then talk to Bernard with Team Tripp and do the same. I would not compare the $1195.00 Tripp tranny to the Flp Level 4. Compare the $1795.00 one to the level 4. Apples to apples. Both are good companies and stand behind their work. Good luck.

My tranny is being built by TeamTripp right now. I went ahead and got the Super Duty tranny. It would be the more comparable tranny to FLPs. Bernard seems to back his tranny, and he is very knowledgeable of the 4l60e. The only real problem is lack of new model cores. The core they had been waiting on for me was supposed to be there last Friday, but it just arrived today, due to the hurricanes. Looks like the 6.0L project hit another barrier for another week. The Super Duty is supposed to take a beating, and I have a year warranty, so I'll going to see what happens.

I had the 700R4 in my 87 IROC rebuilt by TeamTripp almost two years ago. I, not unlike others here, could not find anybody locally I felt comfortable with. I trailered my car 250 miles because I wanted him to do the R/R, which he did for a reasonable price. I am a satisfied customer.

If you read his posts, it's obvious he knows what he's talking about. He is a reasonable man, takes pride in his work, and makes the effort to give the customer exactly what they are looking for. Also, my 700R4 kicks ***.

However if you want to get an FLP or other tranny and you feel comfortable doing that and paying their price, then do so.
