I really wish Outlaw didn't fall off the earth. I run one, it's great in several ways. Closed box, washable dry filter, quiet, I don't find anything wrong with it other than the 90* into the throttle body is kind of harsh, but it's designed to fit with the clutch fan shrouds. Bought it new for $250, some stores might have them in stock still. It also has a good 4" hole with a lip on the bottom of the air box.

Joe, how about modifying your stock airbox, or will that not work with the 90mm tb also?

haha well its 4 pages back now so not much difference. I originally had an s&b and now have a volant. Both are practically the same concept. The s&b has a very classy clear lid, and looks nice. The volant has a whole in the bottom of the box (the s&b doesnt have this) i would say the volant is slightly louder but in all honesty i didnt notice that much of a difference over stock. I would it greatly matters on what exhaust set up you have.

When I originally installed my K&N FIPK about 8 years ago, I did it before I installed a Gibson cat-back, and it was noticeably louder than stock. Then when I installed the cat-back I barely noticed a difference in sound lol (the Gibson was always too quiet for my taste, until I removed the tailpipes). The FIPK made a ton of noise under accel for the most part.

The stock tube will hit the hood when tilted back to fit the 90mm intake.

I wouldn't mind keeping the stock airbox either BUT the stock tube doesn't jive with the stock airbox when tilted back. I may have to look into the outlaw intake yet and didn't Fram make a cheap *** air intake too?
