Default Who is running a 02 LS6 cam in there truck?

A friend of mine has a 02 LS6 cam and springs, he told me it would gain me 30-45 rwhp on my 06 truck.

Has anyone done the LS6 cam swap?

What power have you gained?

I have one it did help out alot ,This book I have said it gained 40 hp at the crank on a 5.3. If I would do it over again I would of gone with an aftermarket. It did lower my et elec fans,ls6 cam with no tuning I went from 15.3 to 14.7

i used to have one. on the 117.5 LSA its not very noticable really. IMO it will jsut make you want a bigger cam once you know what a small one feels like. a year after my LS6 went in i ended up with the one in my sig

there are bigger and better cams out there..if your going to go through the trouble of putting a cam in, you might as make it as worth while as you can and stick in a big cam, soon2bespooled is right, right as you stick in a cam you will want one bigger and then go bigger...i put in 3 cams in one month..

The '02 Z06 cam is mild enough that it will run on a stock tune, but a tune will make it run even better.

this is true, i ran that cam on a tuned, but not tuned for cam, kinda thing for a few months, got it tuned up for the cam, and ran it for a total of a year, then i still had the cam bug so i HAD to go bigger. IMO, dont waste your time with small cam let alone a stock sized cam of any kind, you will like it but it will only make you want bigger
