Either TR or TSP, any impressions? What gear and converter are you using, and which LSA did you go with...wheels are still turning on the LQ9 build...I searched but would prefer a little more recent info

A good friend of mine runs a 224r cam in his silvy ss awd. with LT's, CAI, circle d 278mm stall (3200) and a tune thats way off due to a bad exhaust leak (when tuned). He went 13.68 last weekend here in MI. truck with him in it is 5500lb. 1.94 60 foot.

I say that cam does pretty damn good in a LQ9!

I run a tr224-112 in a lq4. When it had stock heads and a tt3000 it went 13.3@101 with a 1.8 60ft. It needed more convertor. U could feel it bog when it would dead hook. Now it has tsp stage 2.5 5.3 heads and a 3400 performabuilt billet convertor. I haven't run it at the track yet but it pulls way harder on the top end. It dynoed 414 after the head swap. There is a dyno thread with the graph posted. Truck is a crew cab with 4.10 gears.

Im kinda close, running a 226/ 224 in my newly swapped in LQ4.

The truck runs sooo much better than the 5.3 did, more grunt.Pulls real nice on the top end, only have about an hour drive time though !

I cant give you a fair eval. yet as i have the stock converter, i cant wait to throw a 3000-3200 in and really melt the rears off.

224 is a great cam for a 6.0.. 18mpg, 400hp, easy to tune and idle. It drove good with stock converter all the way to a 4000 converter..
