Your not going to run meth on your turbo set up?

nonnieselman 04-06-2012 04:56 PM

Yea, my controller is setup for 2 bar MAP tho.. and my whole kit is ready to go but needs boost to activate the pump.

I forgot you already had a kit. What compression are you running?

Take if for what its worth... But Snow was on Horse Power TV on Spike a while back and they put there NA kit on the high comp 572 BBC that HPTV has. They tuned it up on the engine dyno on pump 93 then added the snow kit that sprayed though a plate kit. Sprayed their "Boost Juice" 51/49 Meth. They were about to add some more timing over what they could on just pump 93 and picked up about 30hp if I remember correctly. Probably on their website some where.

Here is the link to that episode: PowerBlockTV - Video

What is impressive about that is it made 33 more hp than the 110 octane race fuel with meth and 93 octane. So what kind of improvement would it make with a baseline number with 93 octane. Then add meth and timing on a 11:1+ compression motor.

I was always of the understanding that any motor would benefit from it. I've been thinking about doing it to my N/A truck because I see some knock when towing and I'm only on 10.5 CR. Certanly would help on hot days......

It wont help much without an increase in the compression ratio. Its more useful on FI apps where there are high temperatures involved and the fuel is near the detonation threshold.

When I get my heads ported, I'm going to have him either open up the combustion chamber to run forced induction or or drop the cc to 65ish for a high compression N/A motor.

I'm already running 11.4 compression but if I bumped it up to 12:1, and ran meth all the time, would I greatly benefit from the meth kit? Or is 12:1 on meth to high of compression for a daily driver?

Atomic 04-08-2012 11:49 AM

If you have e85 locally I would bump it to 14:1 and run e85 all the time. You still wont see a lot with meth + 12:1. You need to decide rather early if you want NA or FI.

Vegas does have E85 but I wouldn't ever go with a compression ratio that high. 12 would be the limit and you think that would be safe with meth and 91 octane for EVERY day driving?
