Why does my GMC have clutch fan anyway??

I had a very old car and the fan was just bolted to the engine. no clutch or anything.

yup it was. The thing would start in the coldest of weather. Just set the choke and crank it over. it didnt have a coolant recovery tank. its just puked out the anitfreeze through a hose onto the ground. No pcv either, just a breather. Very basic harly any wires or hoses running around.

well, what the hell was it? a Model T?

as for E-fans, i sat in traffic last year during the hurricane evacuation for 22 hours with my truck running the whole time. the truck NEVER got hot and the efans never gave me any problems. ive got the 27" radiator with LS1 fans and a nelson harness. mine seem to be perfectly reliable.
