Default Why will it eat the tires off

Why will it eat the tires off one time and not the next. My truck is a 02 SWB 3:43 gears. 5.3 with a 112 Maggie Long tube header. One time you can stop and it will eat the tires off the next time just bog. It has a Nelson tune and should have the traction control off on it. What gives???

Sometimes it downshifts and others it doesnt? FI tunes really need to be done in person.

Do you have tuning software or a scan tool that can read knock retard? Maybe you're getting some KR? The heat soak idea is good too...

Maybe the tires are grabbing after you got them hot. Different pavement types. Or could be in 2nd on the next run as mentioned.
