Default Will I benefit with meth injection for towing??

I have been reading a lot of post's about meth / alky injection and it seems like a great set up. The thing is I am looking at keeping my temps down while towing. Im not sure how the system works. Does it only spray at WOT or is it boost activated? Will I need to re-tune for the meth injection or does it just keep the IATs down so the PCM does not pull timing?

I was also wondering what a safe IAT is. I see 127 after a full WOT run through the gears on a 65 deg day.

Mine only sprays once it sees about 4 psi. If you use it to tow you are gonna run out of meth really fast if it is used at low boost.

jnybbad, You might want to check out AlkyControls, set-up. You cas adjust it's turn-on point, and how much meth it sprays, It also is a Progressive, not just on or off.

Even if the set up sprays just a small amount, he will be in boost a lot more than when not towing. That will add up to a great deal of meth being used compared to normal driving conditions.

May be using more meth but i don't think it will be that much more. When i'm towing the only time i'm in boost is when i accelerate to merge into traffic or taking off from a stop. Towing 8500# camper 70-75 mph and never goes into boost unless i'm going up a steep hill. Then i only see a couple of lbs of boost. I'm in the process of installing meth injection right now. I'm waiting on some fittings then i can complete the install. If i get it done before the weekend i will try it out this weekend towing and see how it works.

Since you have an intercooler already you can set the meth to spray only at the top end of your boost. IE if you see 8psi you can start it spraying only at 6psi+ and even then you can make it a light mist which is enough to get soem cooling benifit without using too much of the stuff.

It all comes down to how often you see high boost and how much you plan on spraying. Meth can be set up to spray very little and last a LONG time or it can be set heavy and you'll go through a 1ga tank in a few days. LOL

I was under the impression that you see a good bit more boost than that. I know when I drive normal I rarely see any boost. Just thought it would be different towing.
