Default Will I benefit from a tbss intake?

I have an 04 rcsb 5.3. Have lt's and tr220. I'm thinking of doing a tbss intake and tb. I've been searching around and cant find a straight answer. Also will I need to run after market fuel rails? Can I run stock tbss injectors? Thanks guys!

I am looking for a similar answer. I am running a different cam but it was designed with the TR220 in mind. (I was looking for the power of the TR220 and the powerband of the Comp 212/218). I was looking to add the TBSS intake and TB with stock injectors and the TBSS fuel rail (since I cannot tune on my own). From the factory the new 07 and up trucks come with a 4-bolt 87mm TB and a similar intake to the TBSS (slightly smaller?). I know they increased factory "rated" HP by about 20-25 so I am sure the intake had something to do with it (along with the 243 heads). From what I have been seeing for 07-up dyno numbers with cam only, I do not see why it would not help. It is supposedly much better up top with no loss of low end compared to stock as well as compared to the venerable LS6 intake.

Of course, just the bigger tb alone will be a gain in HP.

DO A SEARCH.Several threads have been posted with links to the TBSS sites.Ive seen a dyno graph of a ported TBSS intake give better gains than the FAST intakes and it does it thru out the power band instead of just at peak like a FAST.

Plus its bolt on and you dont have to spend hundreds of dollars swapping parts to get it to fit like you do with the car intakes.

So lets go over:

1)cheaper than Zo6,FAST,or any other aftermarket

2)you dont have to change water pumps, tentioners, and ?, spending hundreds of dollars just to get the intake to fit

3)88mm tb with no coolant lines run to it is CERTAINILY a gain vs stock 99-06 with the 78mm,88 beats 78 any day of the week

4)TBSS made more HP than the early Zo6's using the same cam, main difference between the 2 being the intake...

If I was gonna put one on my truck,I would definetly have it ported though.Even by the time its max ported, you are still cheaper than a FAST or prob even buying a new zo6 from GM.

Heres a few pics comparing an lq4 and the l92(l92 is the same upper 1/2,only difference being the ports) http://www.ls2portworks.com/L92_Pics.php?aa=0&si0=11

This guy is the only one id let port the intakes at the moment as others ive seen look anywhere close to his, look at all the pictures to see how much he removes. He also cuts them in 1/2 to port the intake all the way thru.

I have both a TBSS intake and L92,they are identical besides the port opening,TBSS is cathedral port,L92 is rectangular port in case someone says the pics are of a L92 intake...

I have a complete MINT complete TBSS intake if anyone is interested for $300 shipped without the TB,pics are in the FS section.
