Question will i need to measure PTV clearance with this small cam? LQ9. expected gain in HP?

I know the answer is to always measure PTV clearane but there are also so many know cam combos that there is no need. I really do not want the expense of head studs and head gaskets if there is no real need to measure.

the engine is a 2004 LQ9.

cam specs are

@ .050 int. 220 exh 226
gross int .581 exh .584

on a 113 lobe seperation.

what kind of performace gain can i expect out of this cam in a otherwide stock engine?

I have no experience personally with that cam but I would say that's a pretty good choice for a LQ9. Probably would net you 20-30 rwhp with a tune, and should sound pretty nasty. You need to throw on some headers and a CAI to let it breathe to its potential though.
