Hello truck experts,

I have a 2002 HD Silverado with an 8.1 and an Allison transmission.

edit: does it really give you 30 HP gain?

1. will the micro tuner work for this set up?

2. will it raise my shift points?

3. will it raise my rev limiter and top speed 100 mph governer?

4. change speedo for taller tires?

5. How is the tuning? Does it give the advertised HP and TQ increases?

The only mods I will do to this truck is mount taller tires, headers and exhaust system. Maybe a cold air intake if someone comes out with one.

Actually, I want it for tire size adjustment for the speedo but I would want all the other stuff to work also.

Here is some info I got from Superchips.

1. They do have a tuner for your truck. Part# 2505.

2. It can not raise your shift points because eveidently the Allison is controlled by a seperate computer. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

3. It can raise your top speed limiter but, I don't see anything in the email about the rev limiter.

4. It can also adjust for taller tires or gear ratio changes.

5. The tuning is said to give 30hp and 40lb/ft torque. This is from Superchips so take that however you wish. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Since we don't have many/any <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> guys with the Allison it may be a little difficult to find someone who has dynoed one of these independently on this site. You might want to try some of the other truck forums out there to get this info.

I think there is a thread around here somewhere with some other good sites. I'll try to find it.

Thanks alot John, I appeciate it. Looks like it will do what I want it to. If you can't raise the shift point there is no need to rqaise the rev limiter anyway. I only wanted it for the tire change adjustment and the HP was an added bonus.
