The truck rails won't fit a LS6 intake,The TB will hit the water neck,The other stuff will probly swap over.

I believe there are a few guys in here that have used the truck rails when swapping to a LS6 intake. I'm not sure how they did it or what was involved though. The swap from a truck intake to LS6 intake on a truck can be done, just requires a few customizations. There are actually several different approaches to putting it on.

1. Cut water neck down, use adapter to get hose outta the way of TB, cut idler pulley wheel area off Alt bracket, relocate idler wheel using Speartech bracket, put the LS6 intake on and get all the hookups redone.

2. Use custom front outlet waterpump with truck pulley, cut stock hose down to fit front outlet pump, cut idler pulley wheel area off Alt bracket, relocate idler wheel to middle bolt hole in Alt bracket or make a custom bracket for it, put the LS6 intake on and get all the hookups redone.

Up to '03 you could had to use the '97 vette style fuel rails because the trucks uses a Manifold referenced fuel pressure regulator on the rails with the return up front. The '04+ trucks use a similiar setup to the Fbodies with the return in the back close to the tank. The fuel pressure is static so I imagine you could use stock Fbody rails on the LS6 intake if you swapped in on a 04+ truck.

If you search in here there is alot of info scattered about in different threads.

Im in the process of getting the parts to do this myself and like XLR8NSS said there is a list of things that need to be done and I will add to the list.

1st off to do a LSX(LS1,LS6,FAST) intake you are going to have to run E-fans(LS1/LT1/05's/FAL,etc...) for the intake to fit.

2nd you have to buy a Idler relocation bracket from Speartech for like $85 or so or make a custom one but most buy from Speartech like me. Obviously you have to buy a new belt.

3rd is the waterpump. You can use the truck waterpump but it has to be cut up a bit which is what I will be doing or you can buy F-body waterpump for like $25-$30 on eBay or brand new whichever you want. Im pretty sure your gonna have to buy another hose for this but thats nothing.

Last but not least and this isnt required but it makes it easier and look right. Get a fuel rail from a 97/98 Vette("return style" fuel rail). I found one on eBay for $150 but Ive seen them on here for as low as $40 they just arent too easy to come buy. You can also buy one from Street&Performance for $235 or so and thats with the fuel press regulator(the one I got on eBay was thsi one). You can buy the from a dealership for $350+ for everything. You CAN use the stock truck fuel rail the only real problem is the crossover tube will sit like 7 inches over the actual intake. People have made spacer for the intake so it sits flush but it doesnt really look right.

Here are a few threads with some good info!

Are the spacers for looks or fitment?

If you leave it ugly with no spacers, do you need longer bolts?

This really seems like an easy swap...

Trucks have a different open loop control. If you are going with performance you have to switch the throttle positions in the stock computer to go open loop(PE). Stock is mostly 90% throttle across the rpm range.F-body's are 50% or less as the rpm raises.

Basiclly looks. if you dont do spacer the crossover tube will sit 7" above the top of the intake!
