because i've already put alot of time, money and effort into the truck (not in the engine bay though) and it wouldn't be worth it to me to start all over.

not sure what all you have done but i bet most of it could be swaped you your new truck way way way eaiser than swaping out the driveline.

i have done a few motor swaps before and have some idea what is involved. your looking at a major project. the only way i would even try it is if you could get an entire driveline out of a salvage truck and swap everything over. pieceing together all the parts is going to cost you a fortune.

My friend wants to drop a 5.3 in his 03 s10. I told him it will take a long time to do, but he's wants to do it when he hits 100k on his truck. It would be cool to see a 5.3 in a s10.

the trans will work, you just need to change the bellhousing to the v8 one. It is an easier swap than the v8 into an s10 because the 1/2 tons are designed for the motor so there is no custom parts needed.

I think its easier than everyone is making it out to be, we were gonna do it to my brother's truck but he missed out on a good deal on a motor and ended up selling it and bought a 2500hd. If you really want to do it, go for it and keep track of all the parts needed so that way others can know what they are getting themselves into.

the s10 project is a little diferent. you would have something special there. doing all that work to a silverado seems odd to me when you can just go trade in your existing truck and have everything you want and do it spending less than it would cost for the motor swaping.
