Hell back in teh day 01Thunder bounced his 4.8 off the rev limiter at 7200 a couple times at a couple different dyno days. I think the 4.8s live so well due to the short stroke and decreased rod angle. Plenty of people tickle the 7K mark all the time. My LQ4 shifts at 6600.

With my setup and tsp 220 cam mine is set at 6400 in normal mode and 6500 in tow haul mode.
If you have a stock 4l60e and a small *** cam no need to shift at 6700rpm either lol. If you want to shift relatively high you better have some type of built tranny also.
The most I would personally shift at would be 6750 with a stock engine (bottom end) and that would be with like a tsp228r or similar, I know a few guys that run 6750 no probs.

You can spin it 7000 if you have enuff cam and intake to do so...cross your fingers hope the rod bolts hold!
If you dont have parts that are efficent at 7000 no need to spin it that high....PISSIN IN THE WIND!
