I said this in one of my replies to you initial tranny exploding post. The 2500HD had all the stronger driveline: 9.5" front diff (E-locker is avail), 10.5" rear end, 4L80-E, better cooling, etc. It is a beast. It does also come with 4.10:1's with the 6.0!

I really need a crew cab now myself, as my younger brothers are probably going to come live with me and they are huge! One is 11 yrs old and 5'5" and the other is 13 and 6'4"! So that ext cab is getting small. I laugh when we pack in the truck or the WRX. lol

The odd thing is the 2500HD has so much more to offer truck wise but it is at the same price a 2500 is or Z71 optioned similarly. Go to www.gmbuypower.com and find out for yourself. The HD is only few pound more then a 2500, and this guy wants to turn 800hp through C clip axles.. need full floating axles.

yes the 1500HD has a 4L80e trans

I just noticed something you can't get a RC short box HD only long box.
And a 2500 RC is only available in long box and only 2WD...
looks like your getting an HD parish.

they all can come in an ext cab short box, i don't want a long box anything so i will have to go with the ext cab short box.

300more lbs for the HD is what i am seeing, now i am looking at 900lbs over what i have. i am really not that worried about the weight, it seems the horse power can be made prety easy, just takes money. it would be even more of a sleeper if it was a 2500HD.

i wouldn't even lower it if i didn't have any wheel hop/bucking issues, run the AZM headers with some quiet exhaust and electric cut outs. now that would be a sleeper.

being kind of conservative with my hp estimates, i am really dreaming of 1000+hp in a daily driver truck. really seems like a 2500/2500hd is the way to go.

I'm not trying to jinx you or anything, but the rear in that truck has really surpised me! I know you BEAT on that truck regularly, and I can't believe that it has held up to that kind of power and that kind of weight. Tons of F-body guys in the 400-500rwhp range grenade the smaller 10 bolt. I realize the truck 10 bolt is waaayyy stronger than the 7.5" 10 bolt in the f-bodies, but I'm just wondering how much punishment a 8.5" 10 bolt will take. Do you have any "plans" on swapping the rear for a 12bolt or something else? Also, what's the deal with the nitrous system "for sale"? Are you planning on a direct port system, or thinking it won't be needed??

how much faster do you figure? and what's wrong with a long bed? i dont think the weight difference would be too much from a sb. nothing like an ex cab compared to reg cab

i think the rear is lasting because of the stock tires, it just never sees that much tq. it is the front i am worried about. if the rear goes i know i can upgrade that easy, it is just money/time. the front will be money/time and tricky to figure out.

i have 2 complete nitrous kits and am selling one of them. i will keep the one kit for my truck but for now i took out the bottle. i dont need it out of the hole any more and infact have way way too much tq off the line. who would have thought that huh. i could see maxing the turbo though or maybe maxing my injectors but not the fuel system and spray to get a little quicker.

i dont think long beds look as sporty. they resemble work trucks. just my $.02.

how much faster, not much but i am going for every last tenth and i think i would kick myself later if i had an extra 300lb's i didn't have to.
