Since I am new to this I have to ask. If speed is goal, why not just drop yur engine into an s-10 pickup, turbo 400, 9" in the rear and get it?
Low weight

it was never my goal to have a sleeper. i have just spent nearly every penny on going faster and a few on keeping it driving nice. just turns out it is a sleeper.

I know your a truck guy that is why I asked about the s-10. Light weight , extended cab have a little bit of room inside and you still can haul stuff. Please do not take my question as trying to pick a fight just curious.

I say give us a 10's 2500hd , there are a few already in the 11's although they are duramax diesel's. after posting on the durability of the t-case the other day I have done some more research on the driveline and so far the only part of the 2500hd driveline that guys are breaking is the tie rods and those aren't hard at all to replace and someone has already come out with a much stronger replacement. From what I can tell the extra weight is not that hard to get rid of and a little weight in the rear is gonna help with hooking anyway.
I vote 2500hd of course I am a little bias toward them

The 2500HD with the Duramax and the Allison has the AAM 11.5 rear diff. I don't know if the gassers get the 10.5. The 11.5 G80 locker from Eaton does have trouble with high HP, the locker cam gears will fail. There are no aftermarket lockers for the diff yet. The front diff is no problem, Eaton makes an e-locker for it.

You can see the guts of the diff here when I was figuring out what went wrong with mine. Just make sure to find out if it has the 11.5 or not.
