Would a 3" in/out hi-flow cat have resonator-like qualities on a 2.5" system?

Default Would a 3" in/out hi-flow cat have resonator-like qualities on a 2.5" system?

As in, would it smooth out tone differently than a 2.5" in/out cat? Just curious...

If you're gonna go with a 2.5" exhaust, go with a 2.5" EVERYTHING... You want to keep the exhaust velocity the same in order to make the most power. You drop the velocity mid-stream and you lose power...

Ok...I got a Magnaflow cat-back with all 2.5" stuff (true dual exhaust). After reading a bit on here, the general consensus is the stock cats flow very well. Are they 2.75" or 2.25"? My truck's a 1500HD with the 6.0 and dual exhaust from the factory. I was under the impression it had 2.75" from the factory, so will going down to 2.5" affect performance negatively?

Hrmm... Go with Pacesetter longtubes, offroad Y-pipe, and a 3" catback of your choice
