It could be good for R&D, if you really dont care about the 4.8L keep uping the nitrous shot untill it dies. Lets see how strong the internals are, see what lets go first, how much nitrous the stock everything can handle.

 

i predict it wont die, i will get to the limit of the -4an nitrous line and be using 1/2 bottle per run and it will still be running.

 

So what is the limit of a -4an line? Wouldnt the the nozzle or the noids be maxed out befor the -4an? And even still just keep uping the size of the parts untill we hit the limit.

My plan is to swap out the 4.8 to a ls6 but I still have this perfectly good 4.8 and since all the parts swap Im going to build power on the 4.8 untill the truck is out of warranty/paid off then comes the ls6 with headers, converter, and and all the gofast parts waiting

 

the shark nosle nx set up seems to be rated at 150hp, not what would happen if you just uped the jets past that. i figure on going to 150 or so right now. then add a fuel pump, a second nitrous solenoid and a dry nozle. spray something like a 100-150dry.

stop uping things when the inline runs out of fuel or the injectors run out of fuel or the -4an line stops feeding more nitrous. i have heard it is good to ~275hp.


so when will it blow and how fast will it go? tranny comes before i go past a 150shot though.

 

hmmm...i wonder what your times would be if you did everything the same as the 4.8 but if it was a 5.3

 

Come on Parish, Feed it what it wants. 6 bottles and counting on my engine and tranny. The plugs dont show any indication of detonation or high temps. (Im to poor for Auto tap and edit.) At least push it to 150. Its a wet shot so you will be safe.

 

i was really going to try a 125 or 150 this saturday at the track, it is the last day they are open but i have to go to a STUPID weding. since i cant get an official time i really dont want to risk killing the tranny.

the 4.8 wont be seeing any large doses of nitrous, i was going to stage my parts but that whold plan is out the window. straight for a 6.0, stall, 2 stage nitrous and a 4l80e.
