Default WTF! New Flexalite 282's don't fit my 2001?

According to the Flexalite description, the 282 fits 2000-2002 Chevy Silverado, full size trucks with 34" radiators. I have a 2001 Silverado with the 5.3, but my radiator core is only 28" wide and the 282 will not fit!! WTF. Has anyone ever heard of this? Did our trucks of this year model ever come with a 28" radiator core width?? Could this be a different radiator than OEM? Thanks a lot for the help.

The 28" core radiator is standard for 4.8/5.3L trucks. The 6.0L trucks get the 34" core radiator.

You can either return the 282's and get the 295's which fit the 28" core rad or upgrade your radiator to a 34" core model.

The 34" radiator drops right in with no hassles.

Here is a place you can get a brand new one for a good price. When selecting what vehicle just put in a 6.0L and it'll be the right radiator.

Unfortunately I think you got the wrong size fans . I forgot exactly which models come with with the 34" radiator, but it's probably any 6.0 liter equipped truck or van. I think the people with the 282's have put in the 34" radiator. If I recall correctly, flex-a-lite has a new fan I saw somewhere that fits the 28" radiator. Good luck

Yup, I have the 295s. I checked the flex-a-lite website before I bought them and I read too that it gives the 282s for our trucks, but for a 34" radiator which I knew I didn't have. That's a mistake on their part.

Does the 295 come with all the accessories (wiring, VSC, connections etc.) and brackets like the 282? Thanks

That sucks that you already got them and had to find out the hard way. I bought a 34" core for my 99 5.3L so that I could run the 282. The 295's were not out at the time. BTW, radiatorbarn.com is an awesome site.

I've got a 99 5.3, and the 282's fit with a little TLC. I assume that I have the same radiator as the 2000-02. Just zip tie the bottom brackets on the fan forward to snug it up against the radiator.
