1-3 hours if all you are doing is the cam.....
It will take longer the more you do. I swapped everything out just about that I could.
the oil pump is a pain but is easy to get to. you just have to be patiant and carefull, not to drop the bolt into the oil pan
springs take a little while. and just taking off the front of the truck takes a good 3 hours.i would say you are looking at a good 4-6 hours for a cam/spring swap.
then add a few hours for each other part you change.
these are the things I changed out
springs, & retainers
pushrods
Rocker arms
Timing chain and gears.
Cam
oil pump.

how much pressure did you use to hold the valves up? also on the ls1based engine are the rocker studs threaded or pressed?

150PSI
and the rocker studs are a threaded 5/16 bolt I do believe, if memory serves me correctly.
the studs are replaced with studs, and lock nuts when changing to comp roller rockers.

Daniel, It sounded very healthy to me for a truck especially! When you left I was listening and it sounded real good! Hey thanks for the compliment. You learned alot of stuff that makes the difference between doing the work and knowing what you are doing, so I was glad to help out and be there for instuctions and the occasional hand. I am always available for people that need help on installs of any kind ETC...
Jeff
P.S. Whats up Greg?

The rocker studs are 1/4 " bolts w/ an 8mm head. Can't wait to see it Daniel.
