Sorry I just now saw this Daniel. Can't listen to the vids til I get home, but I'm sure it sounds badass!

Now, get back to the dyno and see if it's biting as hard as it's barking!

Hows the truck doing, Thunder? You've got someone who was looking at a Comp 206/212, now looking at TR224's.

With more seat time, do you have any more observations with the powerband? Does the engine buck or fart when you lug around in lockup? Have you noticed a loss in lowend at all? Where does it start to pull stronger than stock?

(thanks!)

power band is great. I know I could get more having a bigger motor with more torque but I will deal with what I got.
it starts around 3,000 and pulls pretty good all the way up to 6500 when I have to shift.
I gained 3mph and knocked off almost 2/10's of a second at the track with no tuning, just enough to get it to run.
it idles around 800 right now. Probably gonna bump it up to 850. you most deffinatley need a big stall for this cam anything that stalls 3,000 or higher will work
I cant wait to get it tuned and see what it does, but thats gonna have to wait I have to work the next 4 weekends , but hey I need the money too

Sounds good.

So you don't think this would be a good cam for a mild 2600 stall? Do you base that on 1/4 times, or more on driveability? I don't mind if I'm not in my optimum power range when I put it to the floor and the converter flashes... I just don't want a huge HOLE in the powerband when I'm cruising up hills or just putting around town.

I overcammed my old (wannabe) muscle car... with a sloppy old Lunati cam. If you got below a certain RPM, it was like three plug wires just got pulled from the motor. The motor fell on it's face. You had to manually kick it down a gear. I HATED that.

If you tell me that you HAVE to keep it in 3rd when you're driving around town, then I think that's good enough reason for me to move onto another cam.

I've re-evaluated a lot of my cam choices now based on advertised duration. I noticed that one of the cams I was looking at, was rated smaller than your cam at .050, but had way more advertised. I scratched that for now. I also wonder about the Comp 212/218 cams - the 218 lobe has AD of 271 - while the TR224 is checking in around 274 AD (from what I hear in the Internal section - you'd know for sure). (The TR220 was something around 270* AD).

I've seen a number of LS1 dyno's with the TR224, and have heard a lot of people say that power is up EVERYWHERE in the power range with the 220 or 224. The dyno's seemed to back that up. Some even went as far to say that no lowend is lost - that it's a perceived feeling from all the new midrange and topend power, and how quick it builds.
