x pipe placement

Default x pipe placement

i have a 2006 chevy reg cab with long tube headers and it dumps off right before the axle im putting in a magnaflow x pipe but i know know if i should put it closer to the headers or closer to the mufflers...any suggestions?

Mine is under the passenger seat, with a rcsb that's about the only place it can go.

Yea I know I just didn't know if I should put it as close as possible to the engine or closer to the mufflers. Where is it most effective

Thanks! Do you think it will tone down the sound a bit I have Lt headers no cats true dual back to some magnaflow mufflers and it's super loud...eventually getting some cats to help but do you think the x will make a difference

Not really. It will mellow the tone a bit, but that's about it.

High flow cats will help also longer tail pipes will help to

Mine was super loud and annoying, the x cut the sound about 80%

If you extend the pipes up and over the rear axle it will help considerably with "in cab" noise especially at cruising speeds. You can still turn it down after the rear axle so you cant see it if thats the look you want.
