did anyone see what S J H is saying about just puting a resitor across the maf sensor to get more range? seems real simple. someone needs to try this.

Did you see this GTO prototype sporting dual MAFs?

thats prety cool and john has a hook up for wiring something like that. that would be great for twin turbo set up. i am looking for the best way to get acurate fueling for my set up. probably close to 70lb's of air now.

Have you tried talking to the guys at Pro-M? They have 92mm and 107mm MAF's for our trucks that flow and read enough to support 800+HP.

i'm not sure how the ecm interprets the signal from the maf, but, installing a source of resistance will only reduce the voltage output, it will not change the actual frequency. so, if the ecm reads frequency, it doesn't seem right. even if it did work, how are you going to know what percentage you actually changed it? i guess 50% would be close to 50% output?

you have to read the sjh guys posts, not all of them. you do not put a resistor in line with the signal to the pcm. you put a resistor internaly in the maf where it is still voltage based. i could see it working great.

that might work but i bet it would cost $500+ and i would still have to do the same tuning tricks, sounds like i might be able to do it for the cost of a couple of resistors.

Actually, they're about $430 to your door w/ the conversion sheets and flow data. Don't ask how I know

Here's one way of doing it. It's a 2K multi-turn pot. The switch just allows it to be set back to stock for comparisons; not needed for the actual conversion.

The two MAF thing on the GTO is awesome. I've read that the new computers will have inputs and the ability to read two MAFs.

The resistor mod looks very easy to do and is cost effective if you can take care of the tuning end.

I need to get back in touch with the dual MAF averager guy and see what's up.
