XR265 vs XR259 in a 5.3L
I am trying to track down any actual dynojet dyno graphs of these two camshafts in a 5.3L motor. I am looking for the torque curve and where they both peak at as I am torn. My 06 silverado is going to become a home for one of them but I really want to see specifics. My only mods are going to be the cam and long tubes and that's about it. It's a daily driver and I am not going to do anything else crazy with it. Hell I knew I should have not purchased another LSx based DD to begin with.

I would say the 265. I have the 269 in my 6.0 and you can't tell it has a cam. I'm sure the 265 would be about the same in the 5.3. On the other side of the coin though i like the tighter lsa of the 259 cam for a truck, so? i guess i dont know

LOL, you guys are killing me. I know the differences between the two cams based on their specs and I am not looking to do a head swap. I am just looking for an actual dyno chart so I can see "how" different the curve looks between the two. I am sure it's probably so minimal that you would hardly see the difference on a graph. However as an example if the 265 loses 30 ft/lbs of torque compared to the the 259 at 2000 rpms than I have made my decision at that point. I figured with how popular those two cams are with the truck crowd there was bound to be some graphs floating around as well and search isn't turning up much of anything as far as "real" data is concerned, it's all opinions.

The XR259 will make considerably more cylinder pressure than the bigger cam. If you're looking for torque, it can't be beat except by a custom grind in which case the custom grind would be similar except ground on more aggressive lobes. I have looked high and low for dyno results but have not found any for the 5.3L.
