Hey Sharky did you have any issue with the LS6 springs? I thought they were only good to .550? That may change my mind on the high lift if I can run LS6 spring.

I have yellow ls6 springs and I have .563 on them. I thought the max was .570 or .580.

Well, seat pressure makes a difference with the LS6 springs also. If the lobes have real agressive ramp rates that require more seat pressure, I wouldn't recommend the LS6 springs. I know that some Lingenfelter cams have lifts in excess of .571 and they recommend LS6 springs...the cams are ground by Comp, but I'm assuming they are XE lobes. Also, FWIW, Zippy has a Comp 222/224 .56x/.56x 112 that he uses LS6 springs with, and he's doing OK with it. I think that the LS6 spring closed seat pressure is around 90, while the aftermarket springs such as the PAC beehives and junk Comp 918 have a closed seat pressure around 130. I believe that the LS6 open seat pressure is up over 3xx, not sure on the others.

Yeah I asked zippy what he thought about the ls6 springs and he said it was cool to run them. I know there is alot more aggressive cams that people are using the ls6 springs with.

I will have some time tonight I think to make a video showing the idle and maybe a few revs. Probably no tire roasting though as I just got the 3.73s with the truetrac in. Maybe I'll take it to the track on friday to see what kind of times it can do although it will probably be not that great considering it's Arizona.

Alright, it got late so I didn't throw any revs or anything but this is just the truck idling so you can hear what the small lope sounds like. It was recorded from about 5 feet behind the truck. The exhaust is a custom 2 magnaflow muffler setup in series, single 3" otherwise the vid is pretty self explanatory.

NicD, I installed the same cam on my '06 5.3 over the weekend. You told me before you set your shift points at 6300rpms, is that for all the gears?

Also, I've read mixed comments on removing the cats, some say removing them hurt lowend. Did you removed them? I'd love to see real info on cats vs no cats on the lowend.

Thanks
