Definitely big, but not too big for a 4.8 Stall, 3000+

Well, it is pretty big for a DD for most people. It really depends on how you drive, and your tune

It's pretty big for a 4.8 DD by my tastes, but will work with a good converter (3400+ IMO) and good tuning. Zippy runs that cam in his 5.3 and loves it...he also has said that he's spent hours upon hours tuning it to get it right.

If you're concerned, why don't you go one step smaller? The xr265 works great as a DD cam, no loss on the lowend and noticeable gains from 2500rpm all the way to the red line.

In fact you can run the xr265 with the stock converter, but to get full benefit of the cam you'll want a 3000 stall.

I ran that cam in my 4.8, i actually went slower with it compared to the 220/220 114+4 cam, but i went alot faster with my current cam...
