Default Yank 2600HD thruster converter in 4L80E/2500HD w/6.0 anyone?

Just curious if anybody has tried the Yank 2600HD thruster converter in a 2500HD 4x4 with the 6.0 motor. I have all the other bolt-ons (AS & M headers, magnaflow muffler, ASP pulley, volant intake, superchips, etc). Before the headers/exhaust was installed, it ran a best of 15.73 @ 89 mph, with 2.32 60 ft. Just curious if that converter is worth the money, and really makes that much of a difference.

Thanks,
Jason

i am planing on a 2500hd and was looking at converters. from my experience with the yank3000 for the 1/2 ton i would bet money that you would like it. with your mods i think it would make a great next step. the only question for me would be the 2600 or the 3200, i would go 3200 but the 4000lb max towing has me worried a little.

i am really impresed with what these HD's are running, you got a 15.7 with just pully, chip and intake! probably a 15.5 with the exhaust and a high 14 with the stall. thats seems prety good for a huge truck with just bolt on's. it would be great if you could get a new ET and then another after a stall.

I wish someone would get one. I am ready to pull the trigger on one. Just looking for some first hand advice on them.

I run this converter in my 2500 Suburban with the 8.1 motor and 4L80E tranny. Feels stock during normal driving and launches harder when I lay into it. I use the truck for towing so I couldn't go any higher with the stall speed. I'll have to run the HD a few times so see what kind of numbers it will turn.

I've been thinking about the yank converter but thats so much work for only little gains, i'd be interested in seeing what shops will charge to R&R a converter. I've planned to replace the trans and converter at the same time this winter. I've seen 4L80e prices from Hughes and TCI for little over $2,000.
For now I wanna put on some Yella Terra 1.8 rocker arms, Crane springs, ASP pulleys, and 282 fans.
Both our trucks are very similar you can see the gains of the ASP pullys 15.99 to a 15.70. Need a nice 13-14 second truck and you could take on any ricer. A Radix could take care of that

Do the ASP pulleys make that much of a difference?

They are usually worth about 10hp (tenth at the track).

How much does your HD weigh? Mine weighed 6570 by itself and my best time with 5 lbs boost from the powerdyne was 15.38 @ 88.9 mph. Mods at the time were 5 psi powerdyne, flowmaster muffler, transgo shift kit, and K&N air filter. I am beginning to think I either have a messed up truck or that the timers are wrong at the "Little River" drag strip in Temple, TX.

P.S. Two stock HD's (all 6.0L) ran a best of 16.9 @ 83 the same night. Still beat them by 2-3 car lengths in grudge racing.

an HD weighs that much , my 2500 only weight 5660...that's with a full tank of gas, spare tire, full interior, and 5th wheel hitch !

as for the Yank 2600....I haven't gotten one yet but it is my next purchase in the fall..
