Thanks for all the replies. Just to let you in on what I am doing, I am buying an economy gas saving car very soon. So now my truck is my play toy. Doesn't the 3200 just have a .5 higher STR to give the extra kick? It is just a bit smaller too @ 9.76"

I tried calling Yank yet they were closed as I was gonna ask them if they could make the 3000 w/ a 2.5 STR

Im planning on puttin the 3000 in my truck as well because I tow. I would imagine that there is a huge difference between the 3000 and the 3200 because it is so much smaller. But you would definately need a very good sized cooler for that 3200 because the converter is a lot smaller, so the heat will build up much faster. you may want to think about that too if you ever do any stop and go driving, or maybe get a cooling fan for the cooler

Since you said you are not going to tow, go w/ the 3200. If you plan on towing every once and a while, go w/ the 3000. Plain and simple

Have any of you stating the 3200 would feel a TON looser actually drivin a truck with similar mods and both convertrs?

I only ask because 3000-3200 is NOT a big difference in RPM and the 3200 has a higher STR rating which tightens up the part throttle feel of every converter I have driven.

I have had 4 different converters in my T/A and 2 in my Mustang and driving lots of different types in our club members cars. Are they really that much different in a truck?

Then again I am currently driving a PT-4400, but did start off with a Y3000. LOL

Ok, Im new to torque converter talk and such. I was told that a Yank 3000 would really make you feel some more punch in acceleration, is this true? I see that they are $740, how much should i expect to pay installation? Is it really worth that much? My truck is my daily driver, would this affect the feel and driving characteristics dramatically? Thanks for the info!!
