Stock cooler is fine with that converter. I only run the heavy duty stock cooler on my Tahoe with my Trailblazer-sized Yank TT3000. Just bolt it up and go!

The 2400 is a re-stalled version of the stock 52lb., 300mm converter. The cores are dirt cheap, therefore, they're cheap to sell. The Yank Truck Thruster 3000 converter starts off as a brand new '03 Trailblazer converter (40ish lbs., 278mm). The core cost for these converters are $450-500. Then Yank reworks the pump, turbine, and stator to give the desired stall and STR. The lock-up clutch is 100% genuine GM designed to go 100K+ miles. That's why it costs more. The smaller size means it will be more efficient at a higher stall, it will have more shift extension, and it's lighter weight will also give you better acceleration. Good enough answer for you?

Well.. the higher you stall the quicker you are goin to launch off the line, as long as you have the right tires. 2400 stall you are goin to stall up to 2400 rpms....3200 stall you are goin to stall up to 3200 rpms. 3200 is much closer to your powerband so you are goin to accelerate faster. It's pretty simple.

Well..you can't stall to 3000 on street tires, but you can on drags or drag radials. Also they arent just used for stalling. You floor it and it's going to jump imediately to 3000, that's what's fun. Also when you are shifting the rpm's will not drop near as much as they would with a stock torque converter.

Default Yank being installed today! Tranny cooler question??

Is the tranny cooler that comes with the factory tow package good enough for the Yank 2400 I'm putting in? The instruction sheet says to run a "heavy duty" tranny cooler, will the stock one work ok?
Thanks, Jim
