Re: YEA!!! finaily geting someware
This has me asking a question: - Do the 1999 trucks have a different knock sensor part number than the newer models?
It has been stated before that the 1999 year model has less torque management than the 00+ models, but from what I've seen, the 99s suffer from knock more than the newer years. Could this be GMs offset for less TM? hmmmmmm.... Time for a little research.

hyde, what parish did with the resistor is the same thing that tony's knockout box does, his just may be a little easier to install (wiring harness)

i used the info from those 2 sites to desensitize my knock sensor 25%, the resistors cost $.99, the method uses 2 resistor one in series and one in paralle so the computer doesn't see any change but the signal is reduced. only problem i see is that there are conflicting values given in the info on those sites, for a 25% reduction one place it says a 25k and a 500k but in another it says 25k and 300k. i may not need it at all once i retorque my knock sensor.

well... i dont think it was over tight knock sensors, i just checked them and they were real close(13-14 ft-lbs) to the 15ft-lbs specd. i guess i will go out and make some runs and try and decide what to do about the knock retard. there is alot less so i may do nothing but watch it for awhile. not sure how much i want to desenatize the knock sensors.

Dump truck.....hush....You need to settle down now. I was putting that there for others to see also. Just unplug the knock sensors...F*ck it.... <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />
