I'd have to agree. Even stock the LS engines don't seem to match the SBC instant low end torque. I love my 5.3...it's just different. Wish it had a little more low end punch.

I like my 5.3 now, but just bolted was loosing something. The little bastards need compression!! I am like others, I wont be satisfied with anything. I do like the bottle though.....

i was satisfied. then like any other drug i grew a tolerance to it. and like a crack head the high will makes me spend money that seems insane to a normal person but to me seems 100% reasonable simply because i have it. all it takes now is a lifter ticking and i'm ready to drop another $1500 for a longblock. my trans isn't acting up but i AM about to drop the last $2g's i need for it because it has 110k on it and i need it before i break it. that's how i justify it. i need help... bad

i was about to say the exact same thing word for word.... i gotta say, im more satisfied with the way it sounds idleing through a parking lot more than the way it runs

i would really like to change a few things and go turbo next year, but i dont know how long that would satisy me either. Maybe i should just quit now, instead of spending a bunch of time/money on something that im not gonna be satisfied with long term

I had a 98 with a big block before I bought my 07 sierra classic. My 98 ran awesome the 5.3 in the 07 was an absolute turd. Did all the normal mods didnt help then gave up and traded it in on a 6.2

Question

Can someone tell me WTF "BOLTED" means?

I thought, by the title, that it meant "bolt-ON", but OP has cam, nitrous, etc... which really stretches the term "bolt-ON", so I can only assume that BOLTED means something different...

or I am just getting OLD...because way back when us old dudes considered bolt-ONs to be anything that bolted to the exterior of the engine, but actual engine itself was still stock internally and un-touched. In other words, no camswap, no bigger ratio rocker arms, no changes inside.

.

I think it's kinda like how the rice burners have stage 1, 2, 3, 3.5, etc...

but this one goes, glued, screwed, bolt on, bolted, blown

ah, ok.
The Harley crowd has that too. Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3. Now I can't wait for someone to ask me what "Stage" my Harley is...Rather than saying Stage 3, I'm going to tell them it's BOLTED...lol. Cam, heads, Pistons, and exhaust...
