before you get gears find out whats back there in the first place. if you have 3.73 back there then imo you just wasted $1000 to put them in.

hate on it if you want. I got a GREAT deal. The 4.8 has just as much power as the 5.3 on the previous generation truck...WHAT UP NOW METH HEAD!

Go FI... I tried to go this route on a 6.0 and I wasn't thrilled with how the drivability was going to be... nor the performance of it.

With a smaller engine its a no brainer.

The 4.8 is slow but I highly doubt its slower than a old tbi truck. When I got my 99 ecsb 5.3 it was completely stock and faster than my 91 ecsb 350 tbi with full boltons.
