Default Z06 Cam Swap Dyno Results

I just finished dynoing a new 01 5.3 truck on my dynojet 248 chassis dyno.

Mostly stock with some bolt ons.

261 RWHP before cam
297 RWHP with 02 z06 cam
(stock springs, retainers,pushrods etc (didnt change any valvetrain, i checked for coil bind and there is none)
311 RWHP Removed serpentine belts

How did the bottom and midrange power look compared to the stock cam?

36 hp is a good peak jump but what about the area under the curve? How much did the Z06 cam move up the powerband? What rpms did you dyno from?

It made more power from 3100 rpm on. Below 3100 is was a minimal (5 hp) difference, and it just pulled away all the way up.

not my truck, its a customers at our speed shop.

It has a flowmaster catback, airfilter, throttle body spacer

If so, they won't last long with the .550 lift. I think the stock 5.3 springs' max lift is .500......... <img border="0" alt="[bomb]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_bomb.gif" />

The stock springs go more than .500 lift. We checked coil bind, no problems.


we have another truck with 10k miles on it with stock springs, no problems.
