2003 Lq4 SOLD
SOLD
2003 LQ4 For Sale
COMPLETE
Complete means:
Long block with oilpan and covers.
Intake (Drive by wire TB, you can put a cable trottle on if you want)
Complete accessory drive, hell even the drive belts are there.
Wiring harness. Looks to be completely uncut.
Cooling fan and clutch
starter
Just like it was pulled out of a vehicle by knowledgeable automotive dismantlers... not toothless junkyard chumps...
Unsure of mileage was told it had 66k, and previous owner claimed he got it from Dix Auto Recyclers here in Motown. I've had it for a year, so it was only 3-4 years (depending how you count model years) old when pulled, so I was inclined to believe mileage is within reason. I bought my old 5.3L from the same guy and that motor was fine, so I trusted the buyer.
Turns fine, but I have never tried to fire it up. A run-in stand for LSx engines is on my list of things to build.
Motor has normal oxidation on the brackets and aluminum bits but all accessory components turn free too.
I was going to build this into a 402 stroker with L92 heads... but who the hell knows when I'll have the time to finish it, my LT1 I built last year still has not been fired up... :banghead:
That is all I can tell you about the motor.
I have feedback on impalassforum.com and motownmuscle.com
$1300 obo
Located in Farmington Hills, MI
Local pickup preferred, you arrange shipping if you want it shipped, I'll pallet it, strap it down, and get it to a depot within 25 miles of Farmington Hills, MI

OK. Guy I bought it from got it to replace the engine on an 03 2500 pickup he got at auction with a siezed motor. He bought the engine I am selling from the boneyard (Dix Auto). He decided to sell the truck as is on ebay, and was going to offer the buyer a deal on the motor if the auction got high enough. The auction only went up to $6500 (covered his auction cost) or so, and he was not offering the engine as a package. He posted the good boneyard engine locally, I bought it the day he posted it.
I saw the truck with the bad motor, the buyer was picking it up that weekend. It was torn down in the engine bay to pretty much the shortblock. Looks like the cam was seized. It took pulling the timing chain to get the motor to turn..
The boneyard he got the motor from always has a bunch of wrecked GM trucks in there, I think they specialize in pickups and SUV's.
Since I bought it, I have put it on a dolly in my garage covered it and plugged the TB and manifolds with plastic bags, and it's sat awaiting me to accumulate the rest of the parts for a stroker.
I <think> all the cards are now out on the table. Is there anything else one needs to know? I wear boxers if that matters.

Timing didn't work out I guess. Remember you and I were doing our motor swaps about the same time. I finished last Feb or so (had to get it running to get to work monday morning )
This motor was the first one I hauled home with Gen-III power in my 93 Sierra!
How's yours running?
Wow, I think I just hijacked my own thread..
Somebody want an LQ4? There, back on track..
