Default Anyone need a Volant CAI or 20s with tires?

Check it out here. Brand-new Volant CAI and some really nice, perfect shape 20s with very new tires (285-50/20). I bought an LS1 Z28 and need the mod money.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Volant just updated their intake box, due to loss of performance.

I haven't heard this, do you have any more details? I hope I have an updated box.

Really? I cant find anything on their website. Well, never been able to find much on their website anyway.

I am curious, I bough one for my 04 Yukon and the fit wasnt all that spectacular but it works.

Can you elaborate?

Here is a link to another forum that is discussing the problem and the design change of the Volant intake. On the second page shows a pic of what the new Volant box will look like. On the redesign, all they did was make it to where the MAF was able to mount to the intake box, like the K&N FIPK. I hope this helps guys.

Volant intake problem & redesign
Thank you.

SOB, my Volant is less than 6 mos old and does not connect as such. I am a bit PO'd here. I just placed a call to Volant directly, calling technician back in 30 minutes to see what they plan to do here. If I have to cough up extra dough to get what I paid for in the first place i'll be a little more than angry.

Wondering about a class aciton lawsuit to get everyone a replacement box due to design flaws and severely overstated numbers. You all think that is viable in a situation like this?

I will post up what I hear directly from the tech in about an hour.

Think I should start a new thread for it so that everyone sees it? Or am I already late to the party?

This, I suppose, would explain why everyone states that they seem to run rich after the install. And I have heard some complaints about more of a "lope" at idle. Can see where turbulence across the MAF and creating false intake readings would cause this.

I am really starting to dislike the aftermarket.

Will do. Thank you, A TON, for the heads up. I have a feeling that this is one of those things that the manufacturer would have let go, not notified anyone or made an announcement and instead waited for the complaints to start rolling in before making an attempt to take care of the customer.

I am interested in what they have to say. Will post what I hear back from tech. Heading to lunch right now, will call when I get back.

You rock, bud. Thanks again.

Not a problem. I was really considering the Volant and then I read the article in CHP about loosing almost a .5sec (I think, could have been less) in the 1/4mi. I was like WTF!!! I hope that Volant has a good explanation for that.
