Default Blown06 motor for sale: 5.7 Iron Long Block

I'm probably going with different motor in the truck and I don't want to tear this one down cause it's such a good motor. I don't need it laying around and I don't want to part it out.

Most of you guys know, but this is the same motor that ran the times in my sig at 23 psi on race fuel (no it didn't push water at 23 psi.) I've been running this motor for a little over 3 years now, but it only has about 4000 miles on it.

A little history on it:
Up until the end of last year it was being run with an out of the box D1sc Procharger with a 4" pulley. In the configuration it made about 14-15 psi at 7000 rpm and consistantly ran 11.0 to 11.20 at around 119-122 mph depending on the weather. It ran a best of 10.96 at 126mph with a 3.85" pulley still using the 6-rib belt.

Late last year I upgrade the fuel system and installed an 8-rib kit to spin the D1sc 100+%. It was making 23 psi. At this boost level it has about 10 dyno pulls and probably 8 eight mile passes and 1 quarter mile pass. No street miles. At this boost level the truck ran 10.46 at 126 mph with the belt flying off somewhere in the last half of the run.

My tunes never knocked, and I always ran at least a half tank of race fuel since I didn't drive it that much. I ran straight C-16 when it was on 23 psi.

Now for the details. It's a fairly simple build, but obviously very reliable at 15lbs of boost and 7000rpm, which is about 600-650rwhp. This could be a simple drop in motor (24x reluctor) ready for boost or NOS. Hell, it would probably run decent N/A as well although the rings are setup a little loose for boost/NOS. Here's a list of parts:

5.3 block bored to 3.905, Align Honed, 0.000 Deck Height
Mahle pistons 9.5:1
Eagle H-Beams 6.125
Stock Crank: Milled for a real woodruff key (no chicken **** pinning kit here)
Comp 224/230 on a 114
Crane Gold Race Rockers 1.8 Ratio (kit came with pushrods, guideplates, studs and locks)
Stock 706 Heads: Bigger intake valves, ported by Greg Good in Houston (I think they flowed just shy of 300 cfm on the intake side)
Cometic Head Gaskets
ARP Head Bolts
Comes with front cover, rear cover, valley cover, valve covers and oil pan
DOES NOT INCLUDE INTAKE MANIFOLD

Engine was machined, balanced and assembled at Custom Automotive Machining in Houston. If you have any questions about it, send me a pm and I'll give you the phone number and the guy to talk to at the shop. If I recall I spent about $6500 getting it built.

I'd post up some pics, but it pretty much just looks like a stock 5.3.

Not really sure what it's worth so I'll entertain offers. Asking price is $3500.00 or best offer. If you feel that I'm out of line on this price, make me an offer.

I'll deliver for free up to 100 miles from Houston, but if I'm meeting you, you must provide a way to lift out of my truck and into yours. If you need me to ship it, I'm sure we can arrange something.

Also, I'll be more than happy to share a tune up or three with the purchaser as I have a pretty good idea of what this motor really likes to run good.

That pretty much covers alot of the details ,but if you'd like to call me with questions, my name is Travis. My cell # is 713-553-5136.

Read the ad, he gives info on the heads and cam. Why would he do that if it wasn't included?

The problem with splitting it up is that the parts by themselves aren't worth near the kind of money that the the motor is complete. My thinking is that the motor will bring more money due to it being a complete drop in deal thats low mileage and ready for boost/NOS. I'd be lucky to get 1000 for the heads and valvetrain, and I doubt you'd pay 2500 for the short block with no cam. However, I could be wrong. If your down with that deal, lets do it.

If I have to lower the price on the whole thing so be it. It's not gonna get used and I don't need it sitting around. If it doesn't sell, I'll end up giving it away just like I did that procharger kit and 8-rib conversion. I took it in the shorts on that stuff.

Also, if someone only wants some of these parts and you think you can sell the rest and recoup most of the money go for it. I have no problems with people making money off stuff that I sell. I'd do it too.

Josh, lets work out a deal where I'll throw in the tuning for free. I'm convinced this motor will meet and possilbly exceed your goal of a 10.20 street truck.
