Default SOLD!!!! FS: 200 Amp Black Powdercoated Alternator

Up for sale is a 200 Amp (minimum) alternator from DB Electrical. It is powdercoated black and has an overdrive pulley installed to ensure you have full output at 1000 RPMs. This alternator uses the larger GM 145 amp alternator casing which is slightly larger than the 105 Amp alternator. Because of this (and the overdrive pulley), you may need a longer belt however it is a direct bolt in replacement.

Reason I am selling: I had charging issues from my build and bought a second new alternator to rule out some issues. I soon discovered that my charging issues was due to a poor ground on the alternator / power steering bracket since I painted the bracket black and effectively isolated the alternator. A new 4 awg ground lug fixed her right up and now I have a second alternator just sitting on the shelf. I put about 50 miles on this unit for troubleshooting only. The unit is slick for sure.

You should consider fusing the main charging wire that comes off the alternator and use at least 4 awg stranded wire directly to the battery.

Price is $250.00 (shipped) and I will throw in some 4awg wire and lugs. I also have a trick waterproof fuse holder that displays charging voltage if interested.

Pictures (don't mind the dust, the alt is VERY CLEAN!):

longer belt for what? If you are talking about the overdrive pulley, then nothing needs to be changed. I just got the same pulley from Black Bear https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=441197 worth the money

Good luck on the sale of the alt.

The 145 amp casting needs the longer belt compared to a 105 amp alt. You can cram the regular belt on but it doesn't allow any travel in the tensioner and I don't think that is very wise. Found this out after my alt went bad a couple weeks ago and I upgraded to a 145 amp.

I have gatorback number 4060930, which is 93 inches long compared to the 92.25" belt for a 105 amp alt. Funny thing is, the longer belt is $4 cheaper than the short belt at autozone.

Thats the info I was looking for! What about the fuseable link? U use the same for the 145amp? I was gonna replace the cable with 4gg and mega fuse anyways, but curious?

I currently have no fuse on mine. Guess I'm living on the edge. I have the fusable link from the stock power dist box and a larger wire (4 awg I think) going direct to the battery.

I had a fuse on the wire direct to the battery, but didn't like the holder I have cause it was too dam big and the charging system didn't seem to be working as efficient with it on for some reason. That was with the old stock 105 amp alt though.
