As I mentioned, both the 4.10s and 3.73s were supposed to be for an 8.6 axle, but neither set fit in an 8.6 axle. My mechanic, who tried to install the 4.10s, couldn't get them to work in my axle and thought they were for an 8.5 axle. BUT according to

The ring and pinion are the exact same, carrier bearings are different. IDK why my mechanic didn't know this, or why the mechanic who tried to install the 3.73s didn't know this, but in either case I want them gone.
