You are over spinning that side mount! That is only an m90 on there, so you are way out of the blowers efficiency range. What size pulley are you running???

The size of the pulley escapes me but it was a custom made piece to make the 10 pounds on such a heavy breathing engine. I can take a measurement on monday when I swing by the tranny shop if you like.

I have to say that this set up is really like nothing that can be bought over the counter, I will post a couple of pics when I get the truck back to show you what I mean. I started off in the quest to better these little chargers like three years ago when my dad's bonneyville took a dump in the supercharger department. I feel that my modifications have gone way beyond the minor porting that the Lightning guys have done.

I am prepared for any BS flags that may be raised, but I am also prepared to back my numbers once the 4l80e conversion is done. Again, I am not saying that these chargers will ever be HP monsters, but HP is not what we are looking for in a 4100 pound or heavier truck. I basically want to make the most power out of anyone who has run the magna, then move on to a set up like Parish is going to be running (Nice truck by the way Parish).

I have had this truck up to six grand running a charger that should in no way be hanging in there, yet I am backing off the throttle before the thing shows even the slightest sign of pushing hot air. If it decides to go **** up on me , all I can say is "that's all that thing had to give, post the numbers, and move on".

Just to give an example of how much I think is left in the combo, it has never even seen stoich let alone part throttle lean, even in tip in. The dyno run was also performed with less than 20 miles on the motor so obviously it could not be pushed, and it definitly has not shown all it has to give.

The tranny has 2,500 miles on it, I put all the miles on in a couple days on a road trip and then pulled it a day after I returned. It has no track time on it but has seen a few short wide open throttle runs.

I am not sure on those questions, if you are serious I can call hughes and find out. The only thing off the top of my head I remember mentioned is something about extra wide bands but I don't know the brand.

I can give him a call, I am wanting this tranny for a DD, not for really mod'd truck. So the tranny I want has to have aboslutly no Kevlar bands or kevlar clutches. Pm me his phone # then.

Thanks a lot for checking in with Tony from Hughes on that information for me
Dillon. For anybody else that is interested in this thing Dillon informed me that it has Alto Hipo Red Pack Clutches and a Kevlar band.

I knew that it was built for ***** to the walls performance, and it does not surprise me that it is not ideal for an every day tow vehicle. That said, the difference between a performance transmission and an everyday tranny is relevent. I can not see this thing having a problem going 100,000 miles with out issue, but I guess it might not give the longevity of a stock tranny.

Does anybody out there want this thing? I see the prices of the FLP with out converter and I can't help but wonder why nobody is taking this thing??? I know that 4,200 for a 4l60e was over priced when it was built, but it has to be worth wat I am asking especially with a custom converter doesn't it?

Anywho, I will give it a little longer here before I send it over to the f-body classifieds and see what they think of it.

Thanks guys,

Martin
