Default Mahle 2618 Gas ported Boost pistons ,-12cc

SOLD!!!!!!

These are a set of new in the box Forged 2618 alloy pistons with custom cnc gas ports(cost me $125.00) and have been balanced. Mahle file fit rings are included. I bought these pistons under the assumption they were the 4032 alloy as stated in the catalog. After chasing a clearence issue, and a call to Mahle tec I discovered they have changed some of their boost pistons over to the 2618 alloy. These things are nice but I want to go with a 4032 piston. They also have the top ring down -.300'', .250''+ thick deck.

Bore-4.005'' (piston measures 4.00048'' @72*)
Stroke-3.622
Rod-6.125'', .927'' pin
Ring pack-1.5x1.5x3mm
Dish volume -12cc
CNC lateral gas ports
L92, LS1, LS6 valve pockets

Why would you want to go with 4032 for boost?

It's fine for a street strip deal, but my truck is a everyday daily driver, and I don't want the noise of the 2618.

I thought the 2618's can handle more boost? Better alloy?

The 2618 is a stronger alloy, and is less prone to crack under detonation. It just requires more clearence and they don't last as long in a dd environment. I've always had good luck with the 4032 but im very careful with my tune. Slip up with a 4032 and you will break it.

Roger, The 8.1 pistons tend to knock anyhow. so more clearance be a knocking and rocking. I appreciate the input. When i get to Texas I am going to order that camshaft from ya.

could you tell me what the compression would be with a zero deck and a cometic gasket?

Gasket thickness? What cc head?
They are rated at 9.1:1 with the stock gasket, and 70cc head. 64cc head is around 9.6~9.7:1.

My bad, it would be a 74cc head and I think the new cometics are 4.150 and .051 compressed. I tried a little calculating with those figures and came up with about 8.5:1.

Does that gasket bore size seem too big for a 4" bore?
