What would be needed to get the gauge up and running? Just re-splicing the wires back together?

Yup. The pyro has six wires. The two from the probe, two for the gauge's backlight, and two to operate the gauge. The light and op wires can be combined and connected to a switched 12V lead or dimmer switch. And of course, the probe wires have their own posts they attach to. Other than the wiring, you have to mount the pyro probe in the exhaust pipe. I had a bung welded in (like a wideband bung but smaller) and the probe screwed into it.

What kind of temps did you see with the pyro? There's not a lot of info available about EGT for gas engines...
