I put 20" SS wheels on my Sierra and definitely noticed a decrease in braking performance. I have a Whipple supercharger though so I didn't really notice the low end accel issue. I say keep them and save up for a s/c. I looked at a lot of different wheels and chose to stay with the factory look rather than get the Centerlines which was my second choice. I also ended up getting a great deal on them mounted and balanced so the choice was easy.

At this point in the game I think I just want the wheels gone. Braking is another issue, I don't want to start a whole chain of mods just to get a set of wheels on that I like. The stockers are just fine for me I suppose. I'll sure miss the wheels but like I said before, I want all out performance moreso than style. As far as the horsepower bug goes, I'm waiting for a few '06 Z06's to get creamed up so I can nab a 500 HP 427 and stuff it in under the hood. I'd just put the truck intake manif on and go
