I have the same cam in my GTO and with CNC'd 243's and LT's it begins to really come alive about 3K rpm and peaks @ 6200. It made more power EVERYWHERE in the curve...
FWIW, my advertised duration is 266* and 292* respectively. Each cam is ground just a slight tad bit different though (my .050 #'s are 215/232 & .598/.579 & 118LSA) but my ad duration #'s should be in the ballpark.
Comparing GTO's to trucks is like apples to oranges, but this cam in my application behaves pretty much like stock 'cept it runs like a raped ape up top! It has slight lope at idle when cold, but once it warms up, idles like stock. No bucking, no surging, I can idle into parking spaces, the garage, etc... (stock idle rpm and M6 trans...)
I look at the CheaTR cam as a LS6 cam on steriods... add 10-14 degrees duration to each side and about .050 peak valve lift and WHALLA! LS6 -> CheaTR
Not sure how smaller cube of 4.8 would affect power range... Hope any of this helps...
