I ran into this problem when I installed 6.0 manifolds, Dual 6.0l Cat pipes on My 5.3 Z71,

The 5.3 and 6.0l driver side manifolds are the same but the pasenger side 6.0l manifolds shares the flat flange as the driver side, The 5.3 pas side uses a ball and socket type flange.

heres a picture with the 5.3 version on the right.

 

I have my stock ones from my truck, and they dont have a flange (4.8L, 2002).

 

The flang is just the gasket it slides out. the maifolds are the same.
