Get the all thread with a nut and big washer. screw the all thread all the way in and put oil on the nut and washer and screw the nut in. Ive the threads using the longer bolt gould up twice. Ill never use that method again

Thats how i have always done it!!. Oil or any type of thread lube will do just fine. Good luck with the cam install

do not use a longer bolt. That is the incorrect way to reseat the pulley and can end up damaging your crank. The proper way to do is it to thread a stud into the crank and then push the crank down with a washer and nut. GM has a special tool for this, but someone on LS1tech copied the tool and is selling it for $45. I'll be buying one myself.

15$ at the hardware store to make your own very quick and easy!!
get a piece of all thread 6.5 inches long and a nut and washer and your golden! this is what i've used several times on several trucks and it works great.
