well my motor is now gone the #5 cylinder is f-ed up so rather than to tear it apart and spend alot of time trying to find out why I am in the process of finding a used/new engine for my 02 Chevy 1500. I have the 4.8l with a 4l60e tranny so i would like to get either the lq4 or lq9 engine but i am in. I need to track down a motor for my truck by monday. I am in a panic! I am locate in So. Cal and am calling every where to find an engine at this time! I know I will need to upgrade the tranny but that will come in good time! I just supercharged my engine and would love to stick it on this new motor! ANY ONE WHO CAN HELP ME OUT IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED! I missed the last sale by minutes for that lq4 damn

 

There are a ton of LQ9's, etc. Look at the page ## with the asterisk, prices are sorted from highest on page 1 to lowest then unlisted on asterisk page.

found a 6.0l engine out of a 2002 escalade with the brain and alternator it has about 80,000 miles on it for 1000$. good deal? is that what these engines are going for?

 

thanks i have already started calling every one up. truck is sitting at a shop due to me not having any more time to dump into my truck.

 

i think i found a 6.0 with an 4l80e they did a compression test and said it is running 160 psi in each cylinder. shipped is about 2800$ he said it came with everything!

its a 5.3 but seems like a stout motor at a good price

 

that seems awfuly high to me, unless it is a 25k mile motor or something. They routinely go for around a grand-1300 around here with well under 100k, with the trans adding a few hundred more maybe.

BTW I have a brand new lq4 in the crate/wrapper from GM that you can make an offer on if you'd like. Shipping would be a bitch, but I think if you are willing to spend that much on a used engine, you might be interested in this one.

 

$2800 isn't too bad if thats after shipping. He said it comes with "everything", so you have to assume it has all accessories, harness, computers, as well as the trans and converter. Ask guys doing a conversion, that price isn't too bad. A good low mile 80E costs more than a few hundred dollars too.

If you get all the accessories, harness, PCM, intake, etc... save that stuff and sell it on here. That will bring in a few hundred dollars for you. Do you know what year model truck its coming out of?

 

hey tex I believe it was out of a 2002 Van but we talked about a lot of other options but the van has low milage with a 4l80e i believe i will have to go back and look at my notes. They did a comopression test before they pulled it and everything was good the van was also a drive by cable. I decided that i am going to just try and start fresh plus i got a really good deal from TT632 on his lq4 motor today and maybe when i get it i will do some small internal mods to it if i can come up with some quick cash. As for the tranny I am going to try to either have art carr build me a tranny or try to find a good used tranny to have built. i found one yesterday on another site a 4l60e raptor but i was a couple minutes late in trying to snag it!! ****!

 

i was thinking maybe a new cam but that depends on how fast and how much i can get one for.
