Default '02 Tahoe Door Sensor Problems

So here's the problem:
Whenever I turn the ignition off and open the driver's side door, my radio and the rest of the electrical system continues to run as if I never opened the door. Whenever I open another door, everything turns off, as it should.
This leads me to believe I have a bad door sensor (I'm calling it this because I don't know the real name), but I can't locate it. On my past cars, there has usually been a plunger style set-up on the dash or in the door frame, but I have turned up nothing.
Does anyone know where to find this sensor, or could there be another problem that I am overlooking?
