Default 04 yukon kinda slow

Hey guys i was out searching for a truck . i was looking for the vho but it was nowhere to be found.so instead im buying a 2004 Yukon 5.3 2wd .i would have gotten it today but hey did not have the 5.3 in black i will get it on monday . the 4.8 was weak i mean i stopped and floored it but it would not even break loose the rear end and it was one of the slowest pieces of ***** i have been in. but then i tryd the 5.3 it was ok not as fast as my pickup but allright its kinda slow but im hoping after the breakin proccess it will be faster. will it be faster after the break in proccess?will geting 3.73 gears make the yukon faster or should i get 3 .42 gears which are better

The problem with the Yukon is that it is so heavy. Mine measures in at 5300 lbs without me in it. You'll be hard pressed to brake the rears loose because they have a 5 link rear that gets great traction.

no offense, but if you wanted a VHO, why didnt you try harder or wait to find one?
theres nothing wrong with the yukon though, its your money, get what you really want.

I've got a Procharger pushing 9 lbs, Mike Morgan tune, 42 lb injectors, TOG headers, and Magnaflow exhaust.

If you want a Yukon tire burner just put a 572 Crate motor with a 500 wet shot.

Unless you are wild about the Yukon, you are getting into a truck that is going to need ALOT of money to be quick. Im doing a cammed 6.0 with a built 4L65 with 10# of boost and a 50 shot. That will hopefully get it into the 12's but thats if the rear end holds up . If you want a VHO, I would do some more looking.

If you are concerned with speed and power, the tahoe isn't for you. It will cost much less money in the long run if you start with a VHO.
