06 valance retrofit..will it work?
I've got a carbon metallic '04 silverado. the lower bumper valance is gray (see sig), and it looks, well, ghey....I like the look of the '06 valance, being black and I want to swap 'em out. Does anyone know of any reason why it wouldn't work? They look exactly the same to me. Also, I'm considering adding the airdam that is below the bumper on some of the '06 trucks. I plan on dropping the truck 2/4 - does anyone think that will get scraped to hell or not? Thanks for the input.

I have also been thinking about doing this. I think it would look tight and I also think all the stuff should just swap over. I don't know for sure though.

I've been wanting to do this also, If I can't have color match, I at least want it black.
I've located the owner of an '06 that is interested in getting a bumper cover, if that happens I'm swapping with him.

Nice truck, kerryt1. It looks very similar to mine. 
You need to remove those door moldings. Anyways, the '06 valance will bolt on with no problems. I thought about doing this until I found a spray paint designed for plastic. It's called Krylon Fusion. I painted my stock grey valance with it about 4 months ago and it still looks good! It looks like the black front bumper cap. No chipping, no runs, no flaking, no discoloring, etc. No prep work is necessary, just a good wash before paint. Something you might want to consider...

Thanks LM7. The door mouldings and badges are coming off, I just haven't got around to it yet. I think I'm going to install GMC mouldings, I dunno.
Colby - do you have a part number for that? If so, I need the one with both fog light and tow hook cutouts.
